RING MODULATOR - 2021

Ok, so I don’t use my Website that much…but it was a shock to relaise that I haven’t touched it for 12 months…bloody work still preventing me from creative…..or am I not creative full stop?? Who knows….one day…….so as usual, this is a visual acruity of the imagery for my playlist of the tracks and albums that have kept me going throughout 2021.

Past, present and future as always and ofcourse, it’ll be different tomorrow as it was yesterday and today…..fell free to open a dialogue with me about anything on here. Click on the Mxcloud link for some aural delights. Music isn’t just about sound…it’s about art and escape…visual and imaginary.

There are also some music vids on here too, so paulse the playlist and be in awe of some great stuff.

In 2022, I will attempt to bring a piece about Vocoders to you and yes, I am still writing about Richard and my adventures in Fuck The Pain Away and the very first blog post about International Club Pop is still ongoing…..keep checking back and follow in unsocial networking sites.

TX Adam

Jonny Trunk’s Do What You Love

You need this album for the future….just believe me and buy anything from Trunk Records

Calibro 35 - Post Momentum EP

Milan Based Calibro 35 continue to bring Psych Funk shenanigans, like lost Sphagetti Western Discotecca soundtracks for imaginary films

Jar Vis - Remix Ed

a Remix album without a duff track….no honestly….do yourself a favour

A Certain Ratio - Loco Remezclada

Two remix albums without a duff track…never…..get of you ass and dance….funkiest band ever…still!!!

The Emperor Machine & Severine Mouletin - Danse Par Amor

If I’ve said it once I’ll say it again (and I will be on 5/1/22 @5pm on Kin;aesthetic Recordings 5:5:5)…this is my favourite single of 2022…it’s so Emperor Machine, yet so International Club Pop, yet so Discoux …yum…constant rotation, repeat into infinity……..oh yes

Gemma Cullingford - Let Me Speak

Sink Ya Teeth’s bassist delivers a stunning solo album that justmakes you want to groove and takes you in to some dark stories to disturb your psyche along the way…I love this…I really do

Lonelady - Former Things

When Julie Campbell said she was going more electronic…my ears pricked up…yet, there’s great tracks on this, but somehow if it was sequenced better I’d like this album more…of course I can digitally do that myself. Otherwise live…it all works really very very well

Neneh Cherry - Raw Like sushi

I know…yes…I never bought it at the time. I was listening to Tech and Uk House and Wax Trax and…..yeah yeah yeah…….revisted and thought yeah…..it’s pretty good isn’t it!!!

Soul Media - Funky Stuff

It’s called Funky Stuff for a reason….original and reissue are going for wtf prices

The Near Jazz Experience - Spirit Of Indo

No, it’s not on the playlist…here’s another for the Kin;Aesthetic 5:5:5…….

Large Plants - La Isla Bonita

Out on Ghostbox…like they said, if this is a piss take….it’s great, it’s like Deep Purple, it’s 70’s prog on a balaeric blow out

Low - Hey What

Sonic Beauty all round side-chaining americana…nah, that’s a shit description…..just take a listen

Dlina Volny - Dazed

Belarus trio release 2nd album via Johnny Jewels Italians Do It Better and it has to be one of the best IDIB releases of the year….check out the Kin;Aesthetic 5:5:5 again……tell you what, pause the playlist and check out the video below

Love Object - New flesh

Saint Petersburg duo Love Object bring a Soviet Alterntive Dark yet sexy glow to IDIB…check anther Video below

Juno Francis - Dance With Me

Even more Italians Do It Better from Swedish duo Juno Francis, expect more to come. IDIB do this sort of thing just the right way (although this release ws on Solina Records!!)…the trouble is that when Johnny Jewel and the gang get prolific their quality control does tens to get a bit iffy…although I’m sire that’s just my opinion…there’s plenty more of this sort of thing out there worth not checking out.

Blancmange - Commercial Break

Neil Arthur’s analogue cynicism ……go on…it’s cutting stuff and it’s grim up North…actually it’s grim everywhere on this horrible little right wing island…..toto

Asa Moto - Martino

A quiet year for DeeWee, but what was released is always of such high quality…bit like Despacio really

Divider - Divider

John Taylor from Punx Soundcheck….one of the great lost albums from the Electroclash Era out on Icon series……this is great fun

Italoconnection - Midnight Confessions Vol 1

Fred Ventura is one of the original Italo Disco stars, therefore is this Nu Italo??…doesn’t matter, Italo has never really gone away….but this Di Classe……

Knight$ - Dollars & Cents

The ripe side of Britalo cheesiness and synthwave pop

Xeno & Oakland - Vi/deo

Brooklyn Based Minimal Wave/synthpop duo seem to have acquired some new kit and produced a great album on really addictive stuff

The KVB - Unite

Unfairly tagged as cold wave….lushest production from this UK based duo

Fasme & Maelstrom - Lotus 48EP

Slightly quiet year for Sheffield central Processing Unit, but this latecomer really strikes with Electro and Drexiyan Tech vibes

Model Citizens - Are Friends Electro?

Pure Old School Electro vibes along with The Egyptian Lover…..what isn’t there to love???

Katatonic Silencio - Prisoner of the self (remixed)

My first introduction to Bristol Normcore…this is devasting speaker destroying material….oh yes

Various - Habibi Funk Vol 2

Fantastic compilation of North African funk, soul and disco……oh this is so so good

Cuba - Music and Revolution Volume One and Two

Gilles Peterson and Stuart Baker compile two volumes of an amazing compilation and a fantastic book….not a duff track anywhere
